Christian F. Trippe, born in Düsseldorf 1961, studied Modern History and Political Science. He worked for BBC Radio, German Service in London, Deutschlandfunk Cologne and WDR-TV (Düsseldorf).

In 1993 he joined Deutsche Welle TV, Germany's inernational broadcaster:
